AutomotiveINNOVATIONS: moovel named most innovative mobility concept

  • Center of Automotive Management (CAM) and accounting and management consulting firm PwC present award to moovel app
  • Mobility app moovel receives honor for most innovative mobility concept
  • The AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award has been awarded by the Center of Automotive Management (CAM) and PwC since 2012

Stuttgart, May 2, 2016 The Daimler subsidiary moovel wins the special AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award 2016 as the most innovative mobility concept.

"Daimler demonstrates in an exemplary fashion how traditional automobile manufacturers can not only identify digital trends, but also shape them – and ultimately bring together products and services so as to add value for customers when integrated into their day-to-day lives," says Felix Kuhnert, Head of Automotive for PwC in Europe, explaining the reason behind the award. Whether by train, bus, taxi, bicycle or car-sharing: moovel tells its users the quickest and cheapest way from A to B at a glance. The innovative route planner also includes an integrated payment function. The AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award has been awarded by the Center of Automotive Management (CAM) and accounting and management consulting firm PwC since 2012.

The free iOS and Android mobility app shows users the best route to their destination and combines local public transport, the car-sharing providers car2go and Flinkster, mytaxi, Taxi-Ruf, rental bicycles and Deutsche Bahn. With the full integration of local public transport tickets in Stuttgart and Hamburg, moovel is the world's first provider to offer a complete one-stop-shop for urban mobility. In addition to car2go, Flinkster, mytaxi and Deutsche Bahn, the moovel app can be used to book and pay for journeys by the transport modes within Stuttgart Transport Association (Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart – VVS) and Hamburg Transport Association (Hamburger Verkehrsverbund – HVV).
